Problems with sound

One problem we encountered was the sound that goes with the dialogue. The rest of the piece uses sound effects or non-diegetic sound. So the dialogue sounds out of place with the camera noises in the background as well as a wind sound effects.
In the end we decided to re-record the dialogue and deleted the previous bit of sound, making it clearer for us to hear.

Problems when editing

A problem we encountered whilst was that when uploading our film the sound become out of sync. This wasn't a problem for most of the film as we are using mostly non-diegetic sounds but for the conversation part we had to move all the sound pieces into the right place to match with the movement of the lips.

Problems when filming

One problem encountered whilst filming, was that it started to lightly rain. This wasn't a problem with our actors or most of the filming, but on one of the shots, the camera was facing the way the rain was coming, so when it came to editing, we found we had rain droplets on the lens making it blurry. The shot is important as it is part of the match-on-action of coming round the corner. We could either ignore it and keep it in, re-film it or completely delete that shot, as we have a different match-on-action shot later on in the extract.

Music

We have made two music pieces for our film scene.

The first one is a piece for the chase and high tempo and energetic we thought it would add tension and excitement to the scene. This will be adjusted to fit the right time after we film and know how long the chase is for. This is made up of Electric Guitar Swell, Alternative Rock Bass and Effected Drum Kit on Garage Band.

The second piece is also on Garage Band and is just one effective sound effect, Edgy Rock Bass, this is clear as it shows that when it plays it is showing evil. It is played when Miriam is on screen.

Sound effects

The sound effects weve chosen to use emphasise the scene. We chose gunshot sounds so we can make them louder and more tense. We may also use a wind sound effect to play in the background throught the scene. We could use footsteps and bird noises to show how the scene is taking place outside and so it seems more innocent before the bad character changes the scene.

Location

We decided to shoot our scene in Shepreth as is would be more convinient as more of the group live nearby also the location is remote, so the props we use will not attract attention.
The red lines show where about we are filming.

Shot types

Establishing shot.

The establishing shot establishes the scene or the people in the scene. The shot is usually used at the beginning of a scene.

Long Shot.

A long shot shows the whole of a humans body, with the head at the top of the shot and the feet at the bottom.

Medium Shot.

A medium shot shows from the waist up.

Close up.

A close up shows just the face of a person, usually used to show emotion in a scene or detail in an object.
