Shot types

Establishing shot.



The establishing shot establishes the scene or the people in the scene. The shot is usually used at the beginning of a scene.

Long Shot.



A long shot shows the whole of a humans body, with the head at the top of the shot and the feet at the bottom.

Medium Shot.



A medium shot shows from the waist up.

Close up.



A close up shows just the face of a person, usually used to show emotion in a scene or detail in an object.
